The Church from the beginning continued the work of Jesus in caring for the sick. The Anointing of the Sick is our sacramental way of celebrating Jesus’ healing and comforting presence with those who are seriously ill. We celebrate the Anointing of the Sick twice a year at one of our Sunday Masses. In more urgent cases, those who are suffering with a serious illness, or their families are encouraged to contact us to arrange for the celebration of this sacrament. It is much better to celebrate the Anointing of the Sick early in the sickness rather than waiting until moments before death.
